Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pearler Australia Pty Ltd (“Pearler”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information when you visit or buy from pearler.com.au (the “Site”). We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Device and browsing information

  • What: browser type, IP address, time zone, cookie information, pages and products you view, search terms, and how you use the Site
  • Why: to load the Site properly, understand how it’s used, and improve it
  • How: collected automatically through cookies, pixels and similar technologies

Order information

  • What: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, order details and shoe size
  • Why: to process and deliver your order, send confirmations, provide customer service, prevent fraud, and (if you’ve agreed) send you marketing
  • How: collected from you at checkout

Payment details
Payments are processed securely by Shopify and our payment providers. We don’t store your full card details.

Customer service
If you contact us, we keep a record of your messages and details so we can help you.

How we use it
We use your personal information to:

  • sell and deliver your order
  • process payments, returns and exchanges
  • respond to your questions
  • improve the Site and our products
  • prevent fraud
  • send you news and offers if you’ve opted in
  • meet our legal obligations

Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Pearler. These include:

  • Shopify, our online store platform (shopify.com/legal/privacy)
  • Klaviyo, for email marketing
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, for advertising and analytics
  • Shipping carriers, to deliver your order

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights.

Overseas storage
Some of our service providers, including Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta and Google, store data overseas, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information.

Advertising and analytics
We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand how people use the Site and to show relevant ads on other websites and platforms.

  • You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • You can manage ad preferences in your Meta and Google account settings.

Marketing
If you’ve opted in, we may contact you by email or SMS about new products and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, by replying STOP to any SMS, or by contacting us.

Cookies
Cookies are small files that help the Site work, such as remembering your cart, and help us understand how the Site is used. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, but parts of the Site, including checkout, may not work properly without them.

Children
The Site isn’t intended for people under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

How long we keep it
We keep order information as long as needed for our records and to meet legal and tax requirements. After that, we securely delete or de-identify it.

Your rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days.

Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, contact us first and we’ll do our best to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
